How to Calculate Leftover Yarn After a Project

Have you ever wondered whether the yarn left after finishing a project is enough to make another one?

Here’s a small tip that’s very easy to apply:

Image description

Step 1: Check the yarn label

Divide total length ÷ total weight → gives you meters per gram (or yards per ounce)

Step 2: Weigh your leftover yarn

Multiply weight × meters per gram

Example:

Yarn label: 300 m / 100 g → 1 g = 3 m Leftover yarn: 40 g → 40 × 3 = 120 m of yarn

This method helps you make better use of your yarn, avoid waste, and plan your next project more easily 💛
